A must-visit Italian steakhouse in Wicker Park with standout food and cocktails

Wicker Park's Newest Italian Steakhouse Worth a Reservation

It had been a while since I last visited Wicker Park, and with so many exciting additions to the neighborhood, I was really excited to try the new Italian steakhouse that opened in December 2025. Since its debut, Dēliz has garnered plenty of praise for its great food. The menu spans everything from standout seafood appetizers to rich pastas and a variety of prime steak cuts. The cocktail menu was equally impressive, offering unique twists on classic cocktails.

We booked our reservation for our anniversary, and we loved it. The restaurant has a moody, elegant ambiance. There is a small DJ booth in the corner, that was playing some great music while not being too loud. When we arrived, the space was packed and full of energy. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we both agreed we'd love to go back. Here’s everything we ordered:

Dēliz | Italian Steakhouse | Chicago
A new social dining concept is coming to Bucktown. Dēliz blends elevated Italian steakhouse traditions with contemporary style—crafted for locals who crave something deliciously different.

Cocktails - Audace and Roma Di Notte: The cocktail menu had so many tempting options, it was honestly hard to choose. I’m a dirty martini girl and love finding drinks that are similar to it while allowing me to try something new. The Audace is an olive oil–washed vodka cocktail and immediately caught my eye. I liked it so much, I ended up ordering it twice. It was smooth, balanced, and exactly what I was hoping for. The Roma Di Notte is their take on an espresso martini. The selling point of this cocktail for us was the cannoli-infused vodka, pistachio syrup, and a layer of cold foam. This cocktail was excellent. It tasted like a milkshake without being overly sweet.

Wagyu Tartare: This dish was one of my favorites out of the appetizers. First of all, the presentation was a 10/10 for me. It was served with some grilled ciabatta bread and the wagyu tallow aioli and truffle vinaigrette really elevated the whole dish. If you're a steak tartare lover, highly recommend ordering this.

Charred Octopus: This dish was good, but out of the three appetizers we ordered it was my least favorite. I liked the mint that gave it a bit of a brighter flavor, but I personally don't think it had as much flavor as the other two appetizers.

Yellowtail Crudo: I loved the Yellowtail Crudo. The yellowtail had a buttery consistency, and the whole dish was exuding freshness. It comes served in a green apple leche de tigre with basil and we were using the spoon to drink the sauce like it was soup. All of the appetizers were fairly light, and especially this one. I would definitely order this again.

Truffle Cacio e Pepe: We were torn between the Wild Mushroom Risotto and the Truffle Cacio e Pepe, but I’m so glad we went with the Cacio e Pepe. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, and Dēliz elevated this simple dish beautifully. The sauce was rich and creamy. The portion was the perfect size for sharing without feeling too heavy.

Delmonico Ribeye: The Delmonico Ribeye really stole the show among the entrees. We ordered it medium rare, and when it first arrived, it leaned a bit too rare for my taste. Usually I don’t mind a steak on the rarer side, but that night we wanted it cooked a touch more. Our waitress was so sweet and took it back to adjust, which, candidly, is always a little nerve-wracking since there’s a risk it could come back overcooked. Thankfully, it came back to the table perfectly medium rare and was absolutely delicious. We tried both the Salsa Verde and the Green Peppercorn Au Poivre on the side, which was a fun way to sample two different flavors. We would absolutely order this ribeye again.

Wood Fired Mushrooms: The couple next to us had ordered the Wood Fired Mushrooms before us, and the dish looked so good. When I asked how they were, they said it was definitely worth ordering. They were right. This quickly became one of my favorite side dishes I've had in a while. The mushrooms had so much flavor, were perfectly crispy, and paired so well with the steak, without ever feeling overwhelming. This is a must-order side.

We were celebrating our anniversary, and the restaurant brought us a small dessert. This is always a really sweet and effortless way for restaurants to make guests feel special, and we appreciated it. It was a simple vanilla cake with ice cream, but still really delicious.
