John's Food and Wine sets itself apart from other restaurants in Lincoln Park for many reasons. Their streamlined and unique ordering process allows guests to make their menu selections at the host stand upon arrival, eliminating the traditional back-and-forth with a server. This creates a more relaxed, focused, and intentional dining experience. I thought the food was very different and the restaurant does a great job offering a curated selection of dishes that rotate based on seasonal ingredients and the chef's inspiration. The restaurant is small so I highly recommend making a reservation.
My favorite dish we ordered was Riccotta Gnocchi - the corn saffron puree in this was the perfect soft, creamy bite with a touch of sweetness.
