Glenview’s New Addition: Ēma in the North Chicago Suburbs

I’ve been eagerly anticipating the opening of Ēma in Glenview, and we decided it would be the perfect spot for a birthday brunch. The interior is stunning, capturing the Mediterranean flair of the menu with its decor. Ēma is ideal for shareable plates, making it great for groups. Below, I’ve shared what we ordered, our favorites, and the dishes we might skip next time

Glenview - Ema Restaurants
Ēma is a Mediterranean restaurant in Glenview showcasing Chef Partner CJ Jacobson’s lighter California style of cooking.

Charred Eggplant: we loved this spread so much we ended up ordering a second one. The soft, toasted pita paired with the spread was great

Hamachi & Charred Avocado: this dish was a small portion, but certainly packed a lot of flavor. I thought the lychee pieces added such a great sweet flavor. Would definitely order this again

Brussels Sprouts & Honeycrisp Apple Salad: this salad was very refreshing and the pomegranate seeds were a great touch

Sweet Potato Latkes: I really enjoyed this dish, especially the way the jalapeño avocado crema balanced out the sweetness of the potatoes. However, this was pretty crispy and fried

Brown Butter Dates: I normally love a brown butter sauce, but I thought this was too overpowering with sweetness, especially with the dates. I wouldn't order this again

Green Falafel: this was my favorite dish we ordered. The beet tzatziki was different and delicious!

Spicy Brisket Kefta: this was very flavorful and had a good kick to it!

Chicken Kefta: I thought the Chicken Kefta was good and relatively light, but the Spicy Brisket Kefta was my favorite out of the two
