A Must Try Latin Fusion Brunch in West Town

Un Amor popped up on my map while I was searching for brunch spots in West Town, and it immediately caught my eye. With a 4.8-star rating online, the restaurant immediately stood out. The menu looked fantastic, offering a mix of classic Latin dishes and creative American fusion options. We were intrigued and booked a table for a group of 12, and the restaurant couldn't have been more accommodating.

From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming, setting the tone for a really good experience. The food was delicious, and the drinks were honestly just as impressive. It’s rare to find a brunch spot that feels unique and different from the usual places in Chicago, but Un Amor delivered. I’m so glad we discovered a new go-to! Un Amor is open for brunch and dinner. Here is what we ordered:

Hibiscus Mezcalita & Horchata Carajillo: both of these drinks were great, but the standout was definitely the Horchata Carajillo. Un Amor definitely knows how to make a great classic Carajillo and Horchata Carajillo.

Empanadas & Carne Asada Bowl: I didn’t order the Carne Asada Bowl myself, but from what I heard, it was just as good as it looked. We tried a few of their empanadas: corn, chorizo, and even a crab one. Unfortunately, I wasn’t a huge fan of them overall. The corn was my favorite, and while I’m glad we gave them a try, I’d probably only order that one again.

Skirt Steak Sandwich: This skirt steak sandwich was simple, but done really well. The steak was cooked perfectly, and it was a good heavier brunch option.I had half of the skirt steak sandwich and half of the Torta de Carne Asada— both were great, but if I had to choose, I’d go for the torta again.

Not pictured – Torta de Carne Asada: I ordered the torta and ate it so fast that even my foodie self was shocked I forgot to take a photo. It was that good— I’m really glad I ordered it.

Breakfast Tacos: these chorizo Breakfast Tacos seem to be a well-loved dish online, and apparently they were also as good as they looked.
