2025 Chicago Restaurant Week Menus Worth Checking Out

Chicago's beloved Restaurant Week is an annual celebration that showcases the city’s diverse dining scene. For about two weeks, hundreds of restaurants across the city and suburbs offer special prix fixe menus, giving food lovers the opportunity to try different dishes at approachable prices. It’s a great opportunity to explore new spots or revisit favorites! I spent some time going through this year's participating restaurants and here are 5 that caught my eye.

Restaurant Week: January 24 - February 9, 2025

Kraken Sushi and Beyond - North Center (Japanese)

  • Lunch Menu $30 | Available every day from 11:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
    • First Course (Choose one)
      • Crying Tiger - grilled asian pear-soy marinated
      • Gyoza - pan-fried pork dumplings, sweet black garlic soy
      • Hamachi Collar - deep fried yellow’s collar, ponzu sauce
      • Spicy Chicken Wings - marinated jumbo wings for 12hrs in a secret season, tossed in sweet garlic sauce, toasted sesame seeds, scallion
    • Second Course (Choose one)
      • Bulgogi Bento Box - thin rib eye slices marinated with our chef’s signature honey teriyaki soy, served w/ vegetable tempura, house salad, jasmine rice
      • Roasted Duck Bamee - roasted BBQ duck, seasoned egg noodle, broccoli, garlic oil, scallion, cilantro
      • Hawaiian Tuna Poke - tuna, organic mixed green, persian cucumber, avocado, radish, tongarashi, fried shallot, sesame soy vinaigrette.
      • 3 Rolls Special - choose 3 rolls from salmon avocado, salmon, alaskan, philly, fresh philly, california, shrimp tempura, avocado (V), shiitake avocado (V), sweet potato tempura (V)

      • Seafood Tom Yum - new zealand mussel, squid, shrimp, mushroom, tomato, onion, cilantro, tom yum broth
      • Tom Kha Soup (V) - silky coconut broth, galanga, onion, mushroom, kaffir lime, chili oil
      • Angry Prawn - jumbo tiger prawn in panko tempura, honey smokin’ BBQ sauce
      • Crunchy Lobster - lobster, fuji apple, avocado, spicy garlic mayo sauce (tempura deep fried)

      • Thai Salmon Tartare - fresh salmon, toasted rice powder, thai herbs, fried shallot, spicy lime dressing
      • Hamachi Carpaccio - yellowtail, serrano pepper, fried shallot, ponzu dressing
