5 Casual Sushi Spots in Lakeview and Lincoln Park Worth Trying

If you're looking for a casual sushi spot in Lakeview or Lincoln Park, these five restaurants are worth trying.

5 Casual Sushi Spots in Lakeview and Lincoln Park Worth Trying
  1. Yellowtail - Lakeview
    1. Yellowtail is a great, casual sushi spot in Lakeview. It’s BYOB, so it's a perfect spot to bring a bottle of wine and enjoy dinner with friends. The atmosphere in the back of Yellowtail has a cool, funky vibe. The Spicy Garlic Edamame wasn’t my favorite—there was a bit too much garlic for my taste—but overall, I had a great experience. Favorites: Handcrafted Nigiri and Yellowtail Shoga Maki
  1. Tanuki Sushi - Lakeview
    1. You may have seen Tanuki pop up on your Instagram or TikTok, thanks to their famous sushi served in a pizza box. It’s the perfect spot to grab sushi for a picnic by the lake or just a quick bite. The restaurant itself is pretty small, so I usually stick to takeout when I go
  1. Sushi-San - Lincoln Park
    1. Since Sushi-San is a fairly new spot, we decided to check it out for a casual date night in Lincoln Park. I really liked the vibe—it has outdoor seating for nice weather, a big bar, and lots of space inside. Sushi-San does the basi maki rolls really well, and it’s pretty reasonably priced. A couple of the appetizers didn’t quite live up to my expectations, but overall, the food was good.
  1. Sai Cafe - Lincoln Park
    1. Located just off Lincoln Park's busy Armitage Avenue, Sai Cafe is a must-try. I've been going to Sai since I was little, and it’s always top of mind when I’m craving a quick, casual sushi dinner. The service is always friendly, and they have a great variety on the menu.
  1. Blue Sushi Sake Grill - Lincoln Park
    1. I tried Blue Sushi Sake during the summer, and it was a great time to check it out since they have really nice outdoor seating. Overall, the sushi wasn’t anything extraordinary, but it was a solid, quick, casual bite. I did enjoy the variety of appetizers they offer and it's in a great location of Lincoln Park.
